Why Anaheim Kitchen Pros
Built to California's Kitchen Rules
A remodeled kitchen in California has to meet more than a tape measure. The state energy code calls for a certified range hood moving at least 100 CFM at no more than 3 sones, verified by a HERS rater, and altered kitchen lighting has to be high-efficacy. Those are easy to miss when a kitchen is designed from a catalog, and expensive to fix after the drywall is painted.
Licensing matters too. California requires a CSLB license for home-improvement work above $1,000, and a B-2 Residential Remodeling license cannot alter load-bearing walls. If your plan opens a wall between the kitchen and the family room, we confirm what that wall carries and use the right license class before anything comes down.
Licensed in California
Ask for the license number and look it up with the CSLB. Ours is on every contract.
Permits Coordinated
When the work needs a permit, we prepare the application for the City of Anaheim Building Division and book inspections.
Built to Current Code
Work is built to the 2025 California Building Standards Code, in effect since January 1, 2026.
Local Know-How
What Anaheim Kitchens Usually Need
The age of the house tells us a lot before we open a cabinet. In West Anaheim, kitchens tend to be compact galley or L-shaped rooms, often walled off from the living space, with wiring and plumbing that predate the dishwasher and microwave most families now use. Opening the room up and adding circuits are the common asks.
In Anaheim Hills, the kitchens are larger but show their decade: oak or thermofoil cabinets, tile counters with wide grout lines, and soffits above the uppers. Those homes often get new cabinets and quartz counters with the same footprint, or refacing when the boxes are still solid.
Anaheim has hot, dry summers, and a cooking kitchen adds a lot of heat. A properly sized, ducted hood does more than meet code; it keeps the kitchen and the rooms next to it more comfortable in August.

Common Questions
Kitchen Remodeling Questions
Does a kitchen remodel need a permit in Anaheim?
Usually, once plumbing, wiring, ventilation, or walls change. Permits in Anaheim go through the City of Anaheim Building Division, and new work is checked against the 2025 California Building Standards Code, in effect since January 1, 2026. Swapping a faucet or painting cabinets usually does not need one. We confirm what your plan needs before the job starts and handle the application.
What does the energy code require in a remodeled kitchen?
Two things come up on almost every job. California calls for a certified range hood moving at least 100 CFM at no more than 3 sones, verified by a HERS rater, and altered kitchen lighting has to be high-efficacy. We design the hood and lighting around those rules from the start so the final inspection is not a surprise.
How much do I pay up front?
Very little. California limits the deposit to a down payment of no more than $1,000 or 10 percent of the contract price, whichever is less. After that, each payment should follow finished work, because it is against the law to collect payment for work not yet completed. Your contract lists every payment phase before we begin.
Can I remove the wall between my kitchen and living room?
Often, but it depends on what the wall carries. In California a B-2 Residential Remodeling license cannot alter load-bearing walls, so a load-bearing wall needs the right license class, an engineered beam where required, and a permit. We check the wall during the consultation and tell you plainly what it would take.
