Replacing Cabinets, Not Just Doors
New cabinets make sense when the boxes are water-damaged, the shelves sag, the layout does not work, or you want features that older boxes cannot take: full-extension drawers, deeper uppers, a pantry wall, or an island. Stock cabinets are the fastest and most affordable. Semi-custom lines offer more sizes and finishes. Custom cabinets are built to your exact room, which matters most in older homes where walls are rarely straight.

Getting the Details Right
We start by finding the high point of the floor and setting every base cabinet to it, because countertop fabricators need a flat, level surface. Uppers go on a ledger line and are fastened through the back rail into framing. Fillers are scribed to walls that are rarely square in older houses.
Cabinet work often travels with other trades. Moving the sink, adding an island outlet, or running under-cabinet lights is licensed work; in California a B-2 Residential Remodeling license does not cover substantial changes to major plumbing or electrical systems. When those changes need a permit, we coordinate it with the City of Anaheim Building Division, and new work is built to the 2025 California Building Standards Code, in effect since January 1, 2026. The hood cabinet is planned around a certified range hood moving at least 100 CFM at no more than 3 sones.
Once the cabinets are set, countertop installation follows, usually after a template visit. If your existing boxes are sound, cabinet refacing may be the better value.

How long does kitchen cabinet installation take?
Setting cabinets usually takes a few days for a typical kitchen. The longer wait is the order: stock lines arrive fastest, custom takes longest. If electrical or plumbing changes, the City of Anaheim Building Division inspects the rough-in before cabinets go on the wall.
Custom or stock cabinets?
Stock works well in square rooms with standard sizes. In older West Anaheim tract homes from the 1950s and 1960s, walls and floors are often out of true, and custom or semi-custom sizing can save a lot of filler strips. We measure first and recommend what fits.
Do I need a licensed contractor to install cabinets?
In California, yes, for jobs above $1,000 in labor and materials. The state requires a CSLB license for home-improvement work above $1,000. Ask for the number and check it before you sign.
What will cabinet replacement cost?
It depends on the cabinet line, the number of boxes, and whether plumbing or wiring changes. You get a written price after we measure, and the deposit is capped at a down payment of no more than $1,000 or 10 percent of the contract price, whichever is less.
